On 3rd of February 2005 the tangueros of Slovenia have celebrated seven years since our first milonga. As Slovenia is becoming ever more attractive turist destination - Lonely Planet calls it "the undiscovered pearl of Europe" - we the Slovene tangueros feel the same: those who come and dance in Ljubljana always return. Being on the crossroads of Europe, connecting North and South, East and West, many people stop to dance in Ljubljana. We have decided to invite all of them to a real international tango festival. Let us meet and dance in Slovenia! We expect guests from Austria, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, United Kingdom and some we don't yet know. Ljubljana is very close to everyone: Trieste 95 km, Zagreb 130 km, Graz 191, Padova 250km, Wien 380km, Budapest 600km, Rome 750km... We have decided to simply take the best of everything. We have rented Ljubljana's most elegant hotel - Grand Hotel Union that in 2005 celebrates its 100th birthday. We have invited the world's best teachers. If you are a tanguero you know all of them. Or maybe not: Osvaldo & Coca are 67-years old milongueros that have won the World Championship in 2004. In Buenos Aires, of course. They have never appeared ourside or Argentina. On Milongas the best DJs (Felix Picherna, Anna&Melenita) will take care of good tango music. Festival's orchestra is the famous Color Tango. And the prices: low. We are now focusing on what is truly important: the personal touch. We are preparing the afterhours milonga Bajo Fondo. We are booking cheap accommodation just next to the Hotel Union.
