Festival premises: Hotel Union
Our tango festival will be located in Ljubljana's most special hotel Grand Hotel Union.
In 2005 the hotel celebrates its 100th birthday. When the hotel was build in 1905 it was equipped with unseen luxury at the time: elevators, central heating system, garages, fridges... It was rated as one of the best hotels of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It offered unmatched hospitality to its regular guests and - to name just a few recent visitors - Dalai Lama, President Tito, Bill Clinton...
Slovenia’s grandest artist held the hotel dear. They were even sending the postcards from their trips to each other – addressed to the Hotel Union.
Hotel's charming Cafe Union is the most elegant café in the city. During the festival it will be transformed into Tango Cafe Union - a place to meet tangueros, maestros, enjoy tango music, have a “café con medialuna”, drink mate or try your marca.
Hotel Union is centrally located only a 100m away from Ljubljana's central point The Three Bridges.
The hotel is offering special prices to tangueros who would like to enjoy the charming luxurious hospitality of the festival hotel.
