Arrival by car

Driving to Ljubljana is a joy due to the good roads and excellent signposting. The city is circled by a ring road from where it's easy to get to the centre. Once in the city, it's best to walk the short distances rather than drive through the traffic and narrow street.

From borders Ljubljana (LJ) is reachable by excellent highway.

Ljubljana Airport will close to all traffic in April. During the closure most flights will be able to fly to and from Maribor.
Tangueros will have to travel from Maribor (100 km NE from Ljubljana) instead of Ljubljana, which means they will have to allow for the extra transfer time when planning their travel.  Free coach transfer will be arranged for passengers who might want it from Ljubljana Airport to Maribor Airport for the flights with Adria Airways.

What to do in Slovenia (besides tango)

Lonely Planet calls Slovenia "the undiscovered pearl of Europe". Slovenia offers a great variety of lanscapes, from the seaside, high Alps, to Panonian lowlands. Very special places are Lake Bled, the Postojna caves (both one hour out of Ljubljana), termal resorts.

Ljubljana - Bled (Alpine lake): 57 km
Ljubljana - Koper (seaside): 126 km

Ljubljana is a very charming, slow, green, safe city. You can have a dring along the river, rent a bike, eat really good and cheap, go to the casino... and dance tango.
