Grand Hotel Union
Our tango festival will be located in Ljubljana's most special hotel Grand Hotel Union.
history In 2010 the hotel celebrates its 105th birthday. When the hotel was build in 1905 it was equipped with unseen luxury at the time: elevators, central heating system, garages, fridges... It was rated as one of the best hotels of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It offered unmatched hospitality to its regular guests and - to name just a few recent visitors - Dalai Lama, President Tito, Bill Clinton, Queen Elisabeth II.... Slovenia’s grandest artist held the hotel dear. They were even sending the postcards from their trips to each other – addressed to the Hotel Union.
location Hotel Union is centrally located only a 100m away from Ljubljana's central point The Three Bridges.
festival Saturday's milonga, afternoon milongas, reception and weekend classes will be at Hotel Union.
Special hotel rates for tangueros
The hotel is divided into two connected parts (3 min walk within the hotel itself): Executive and Business.
The festival is in the Executive part - the actual old liberty style hotel.
Special festival prices are:
- in Executive, 1-2 nights: 110 EUR single, 120 EUR double
- in Executive, 3+ nights: 99 EUR single, 109 EUR double
- in Business , 1-2 nights: 99 EUR single, 109 EUR double
- in Business, 3+ nights: 85 EUR single, 99 EUR double
The same group owns another hotel: Central hotel, 10 min walk down the street.
This hotel is close to the festival but is not the festival location.
Union is offering special rates for this hotel as well:
- in Central hotel, 1-2 nights: 75 EUR single, 90 EUR double
- in Central hotel, 3+ nights: 81 EUR double
Prices are per night, with breakfast, with VAT, without 1 EUR/person/day city tax.
Check in after 14.00, check out until 10.00.
High-speed internet in the rooms is free of charge.
The festival organizers have negotiated a better rate with the hotel but are not involved in reservation and booking procedures.
